Mixed Media

I am a huge fan of mixed media, and have been experimenting with it since my sophomore year of high school. I find it fascinating to combine multiple mediums to create a single piece of artwork.

I am especially proud of a collaboration with my brother, Jack Kinney, who works in digital media for Fairfield Athletics. During basketball season, he sent me two edited videos that he had produced. I printed every frame of the videos and re-animated them by adding layers, drawings, and cut-up photographs. Afterward, I scanned each frame back into the computer and reconstructed the videos digitally.

It's a tedious process that can take anywhere from several hours to multiple days, but I find it incredibly rewarding. I use Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and enjoy finding creative ways to blend traditional and digital techniques.
